Rugby Unit takes 3rd in 5-A-Side Football

Rugby Sea Cadet Junior Boys 5-a-Side Football team took 3rd Place at the first Warwickshire District competition of 2011. The competition held on Sunday 10th January 2011 at the Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry had 22 entrants from across Warwickshire and the West Midlands. The team from Rugby consisted of Ordinary Cadets Matthew Hewish, Sam Askew, Brandom Holm and Cadets Jack Tayler, Daniel Tayler, Oliver Moule and Jamie Carwardine and narrowly missed getting into the final against Coventry Sea Cadets.
The competition winners will go through to represent Warwickshire District at the Area Competition to be held in Bristol on Saturday. Good luck Warwickshire!

Rugby Sea Cadet Unit hosted the 2009 Warwickshire District .22 Shooting Competition at the Rugby TA Centre on Edward Street on Sunday 6th September. The team, made up of Lance Corporal Ryan Bott and Marine Cadet 2nd Classes Ted Spiby, Christian Nunnally and James Barber shot well, taking First Place in the Overall Team Event for the highest amount of points as a team and the ‘Top Shot’ Award for the cadet scoring the most amount of points in the competition. The Top Shot Trophy was won by Marine Cadet 2nd Class Christian Nunnally with a score of 151 out of a possible score of 200. The team scored 517 out of a possible 800 score with the rest of the district scoring as follows:
For the first time, not one but two cadets from Rugby Sea Cadets, have been awarded the Reg Day Memorial Trophies for attaining the highest overall marks on a District Leading Cadet and Petty Officer Cadet Advancement Board.
